Did you not read the line that says ” there has been no further exterminations” ? – Doesn’t this suggest to you that the Red Cross have therefore confirmed that exterminations were carried out at Auschwitz ?
Also, can you prove that the Red Cross inspected all 3 parts of the Auschwitz camp, including Birkenau. ? Or were they just shown the main camp, where no extermination facilities existed in 1944.
You maybe interested to read the Nuremberg Testimony of Dr Hans Munch ( SS Untersturmfuehrer) who confirmed that the camp leadership arranged these inspections and guided tours so that no trace of inhuman treatment or murder could be seen.
You also maybe interested to read the so called ‘Walter Luftl’ report that mentions a memo to the commandants of the concentration camps issuing orders that crematories and bordellos are not to be shown to visitors. ( Although when I tried to locate this quote, it is nowhere to be seen. No doubt IHR who published it decided to edit out the relevant sentence, to avoid embarrassment. Although I can’t rule out me missing it )
Another fact regarding the Red Cross can be read in Deborah Lipstadt’s ‘Denying the Holocaust’ , where she quotes a passage from the 3 volume 1948 ICRC report . This is the same report used by Richard Harwood in his pamphlet ‘Did 6 million Really Die’ :
” Jews had been transformed into outcasts condemned by rigid racial legislation to suffer tyranny, persecution and SYSTEMATIC EXTERMINATION ”
or how about this one from the same report :
” They ( the Jews) were penned into concentration camps and ghettos, recruited for forced labour, subjected to grave brutalities and sent to DEATH CAMPS ”
So, Freddy baby, there’s just a few facts you need to know regarding the Red Cross and Auschwitz. You may find the letter ‘interesting’, but now you can also find it ‘worthless to your cause’ too !

Of course I read it. As I explained, this came in the context of the Vrba-Wetzler report; the discursive context of the Red Cross’ statement is that claims coming from outside the Red Cross (e.g. from the WRB) were already alleging extermination. The Red Cross did not make any claim on their own authority that gassing did or did not happen, but only stated that based on their experience on-site and on other reports they had received, this was at any rate not happening any longer.
Incidentally, according to standard accounts the Red Cross inspectors should have been able to see giant flames coming out of the chimneys of the Birkenau crematoria from any point within many miles. Funny that this escaped their attention.

Firstly I am unsure whether flames would come out the chimneys, constantly every day. As for the claim that they would be seen from the main camp, I cannot confirm unless there are enough testimonies to support that, or unless I went there myself to view the landscape.
But for the sake of argument, lets say they were visible, don’t you think there was a high likelihood, considering the Nazi’s wanted to keep such activity secret from outsiders, that they would have made sure no cremations were carried out on that particular day, the day of the visit ?

5 months before former SS-Untersturmfuehrer Hans Muench sang like a canary at the IG Farben trial in Nuremberg, he miraculously escaped being given any sentence at his own trial in Krakow, despite the Poles having previously introduced a law which deemed the SS a criminal organisation and “members of the authorities, of the administration and of the garrison of the German concentration camps in occupied Poland as criminal groups.” Whilst most of Muench’s co-defendants were executed, he should have, at very minimum, received the mandatory 3 years sentence for being SS and Auschwitz staff, but instead got off scot-free, and was taken to Germany where soon after he testified at Nuremberg.

You claimed efforts to find this very well known document are tawdry:
“Occasionally high officials of the Reich or of the party would arrive for “inspections.” The concentration camp administration was especially touchy about these visits. On November 3, 1943, Glücks ordered that the guest were not to be shown the brothels and the crematoria; neither was there to be any talk of these installations.[15]

Thanks for that potted history of Hans Munch, shame you missed the bit about 19 camp survivors who testified for his good character and surprisingly ‘un-nazi’ attitude.
So , what are you trying to imply? That Munch made it all up about how the SS tried to deceive the Red Cross? Well if he did, then maybe you can produce the Red Cross report that proves that they inspected the Birkenau crematoriums during the period Feb 43 – Aug 44, and did not find any evidence of extermination in gas chambers.
And staying on the subject of Mr Munch, no doubt you are aware of his TV interview in the early 80’s, where he confirmed the existence of the gas chambers. This interview, I believe was totally free of Polish Judges and menacing looking Mossad agents. If only Eric Hunt was there, waiting in a nearby elevator miming the act of strangulation at Munchy. Now that would have made him think twice about talking, I’m sure!
I used Nizkor as a source for the Walter Luftl quote. So although , if you are correct, he doesn’t mention the Red Cross, I do find it quite telling that “neither was there to be any talk of these installations” to the high officials of the party. Why would that be then? Discarding the brothels, which I can understand, why would they not want to talk about or show them the crematoriums? Was it to prevent them from breaking down in total grief and despair when they heard that Jews actually died in the camp?
I see you decided not to comment on the other parts of my post – the report of the Red Cross and the line from the letter that said “there has been no further exterminations”. How “tawdry” of you.
Hans “The Good Man of Auschwitz” Munch:
While suffering from Alzheimer’s in old age, he made several public remarks that appeared to support Nazi ideology, and was tried for inciting racial hatred and similar charges. Münch was never sentenced, as all courts ruled that he was not of sound mind.

I believe he was of sound mind in 1981, when he confirmed the gas chambers . No doubt he was compos mentis during his time at Auschwitz too, unlike many of his fellow party members.

i have talked to and met prisoners of the Germans who were at Auschwitz, one for four months the other of one year, both were released at the end of there sentence. I have pictures and letters sent tot here families during early 1944.
